Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta has strongly criticised Karnataka Cabinet Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan\u2019s recent remarks, stating that they reflect the Congress party\u2019s long-standing tendency to treat power as a means to enjoy the privileges of office while conveniently avoiding the responsibilities that come with it.<\/p>\n
Reacting to reports of the minister stating that he was too busy to take up district in-charge responsibilities and had no time to hoist the National Flag, Captain Chowta termed the episode the \u201cheight of unapologetic irresponsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
Captain Chowta said that this was not an isolated incident, but part of a pattern that has repeatedly undermined the dignity of public office.<\/p>\n
\u201cEarlier, the minister chose to take the oath in English instead of Kannada. What followed was a series of glaring errors and mispronunciations that turned the entire oath-taking ceremony into a meme, reducing a solemn constitutional exercise to an object of ridicule and showing complete disregard for Kannada & Karnataka\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd now, we have a situation where the same minister is reportedly too busy to discharge official responsibilities and even refuses to hoist the Tiranga. This is not just about one individual or one incident. It reflects a deeper mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n
Captain Chowta said that the latest episode once again exposed the Congress party\u2019s approach to governance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is reflective of the Congress tradition of seeing power as a tool to enjoy the benefits of office without performing the responsibilities that come with it. Governance is not about occupying positions of authority while selectively choosing which responsibilities to fulfil.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further stated that the Congress government had repeatedly displayed conduct that was anti-women, anti-Constitution and anti-Kannada.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen constitutional duties, respect for Kannada and even the hoisting of the National Flag are treated so casually by members of the Cabinet, it raises serious questions about the priorities of the government.\u201d<\/p>\n
