A proud alumnus of St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, Captain Chowta went on to serve in the Indian Army with distinction as part of the 7th Battalion of the 8th Gorkha Rifles. His tenure included critical counter-insurgency operations in Manipur and Assam, shaping his disciplined and strategic leadership style.
Further strengthening his expertise, Captain Chowta pursued an Executive Business Management program at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore in 2011, equipping him with key entrepreneurial and governance skills.
Rooted in nationalism from an early age, he was actively involved with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His passion for service was evident during his college days as an NCC cadet, where he was recognized as the Best Cadet of Mangaluru University. A defining moment in his journey was marching in the 2000 Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, proudly representing his unit before then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee—a moment that fueled his commitment to serving the nation.
With a vision for progressive development and strong leadership, Captain Brijesh Chowta continues to work tirelessly to uplift Dakshina Kannada, leveraging his experience to drive positive change in the region.
The seeds of nationalism were sown in Captain Chowta right from his childhood, owing to his close association with and participation in various activities of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. His desire to sport the olive green began in his college days as an NCC cadet, where he was judged the Best Cadet of Mangaluru University. In 2000, he participated in the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi, marching as a cadet in front of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee—a moment of great inspiration that nudged him to serve the nation.
